Introduction of VSI

The Vision Science Institute or VSI is a non-stock, non-profit organization dedicated to provide quality clinical optometry education and post-graduate training with emphasis on optometry sub-specialty areas. This will enable optometrists to offer a wider range of products and services to patients with specific needs. The VSI is a PRC-accredited CPD Provider since 2013.

Specific Course Objectives & Competencies to be Gained from the Program:

The goal is that by the end of this course, the participant, who has attended Vision
Therapy courses will be able to learn the concepts of Integrating Primitive Reflexes
and combine sensory and motor modalities in your VT practice. This includes lecture and workshop demonstration.

Course Description

This 2 day course lecture/workshop provides hands-on opportunities to practice primitive reflex testing techniques; experience exercises for integrating primitive reflexes to support neurosensory motor maturity; and learn the “how to” combine sensory and motor modalities in your VT practice to ultimately foster strong visual motor and visual perceptual functions.

Brief Resume of the Main Speaker:

Ms. Patti Andrich MA, OTR/L, COVT, CINPP is an Advisory Member to the Board of the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA), an inter-disciplinary group of professionals dedicated to providing patients who have physical or cognitive disabilities as a result of an acquired brain injury with a complete ocular health evaluation and optimum visual rehabilitation education and services to improve their quality of life. 

Patti is an occupational therapist known for her success in treating individuals with difficulties in visual-motor, visual-perceptual, auditory perception and vestibular functioning. Patti received her Master degree from The Ohio State University College of Education and her occupational therapy degree from the Cleveland State University Department of Health Sciences. Additionally, she holds certification in auditory processing using The Listening Program with Bone Conduction from Advanced Brain Technologies and is certified in CINPP primitive reflex integration techniques; having studied in England under the direction of Sally Goddard at the Institute of Neurological Physiological Psychology (INPP).

Patti is a certified vision therapist, member of The Optometric Extension Program as well as the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, the recipient of several honors and awards and has been a guest speaker for local, state, national and international conferences.
